Melbourne 12th October 2019 – Inner West Photographer George Fetting won first place in the portrait category of The Australian Photographic Awards 2019 with his captivating abstract portrait of Lee Lin Chin titled “Effigy”. The portrait is part of an ongoing body of work with the collaboration of the highly celebrated & respected Lee Lin Chin.

Bowness Art Prize Finalist George Fetting Monash Art Gallery Melbourne,

George Fetting was a finalist in the Bowness Art Prize hosted by the Monash Art Gallery Melbourne, last weekend, one of the most sought-after photographic prizes in Australia.

George Fetting’s Portrait titled ZUFI - Diptych was a finalist in both the Bowness Art Prize 2019 (colour) as well as Australian Life 2019 (black + white). The striking portrait features 22-year-old, Inner West resident Zufi Emerson.  Emerson, who was born in Ethiopia, was adopted as a baby by an Australian couple. Grateful for the opportunity to grow up in Australia, Emerson became a Youth Ambassador for Adopt Change and Ambassador for Future Women (CH9).  After graduating from her studies at the Actors Centre in 2018, Emerson balances work as an actor with her commitment as an Adopt for Change Ambassador, working alongside other Adopt Change Ambassadors such as Hugh Jackman and Deborah Lee Furness.

George Fetting was one of the 28 finalist in the Australian Life 2019 Art & About Sydney Prize, one of Australia’s biggest annual photography prizes recently exhibited in Hyde Park.

George Fetting’s Portrait titled ZUFI – Diptych was a finalist in both the Bowness Art Prize 2019 (in colour) as well as Australian Life 2019 ( in black & white).
The portrait features a 22-year-old woman from Canberra now living in Inner West Sydney. Zufi was born in Ethiopia and adopted by an Australian couple at an age of 5 months old. Zufi's adoption story is a happy one – something she is grateful for. Zufi moved to Sydney as a Youth Ambassador for Adopt Change and Ambassador for Future Women (CH9) as well as to begin her studies at the Actors Centre of Australia. After graduating in 2018 she balances work as an actor with her commitment as an Adopt for Change Ambassador working along side other Adopt Change Ambassadors like Hugh Jackman & Deborah Lee Furness who strive to provide every child with a safe, nurturing and stable family upbringing.
